Write on 2 of the following topics (approximately 3 pages per topic). So your total
writing for the exam will be about 6 pages. You may write on any of the films (including
the optional titles). It’s always a good idea to review some or all of the films that you
write on. In many cases, these are available from Netflix.

Topic 1 deals with one film. Topics 2 and 3 deal with two films each. You may choose to
write on one film for two of the topics, but not for all three. And only one film may be
discussed in two questions. So you will be writing on 4 or 5 films for this exam.

What the fuck does this mean? It’s on my midsemester exam so this is kind of important, yeah? It kind of seems like he went back and edited an old exam and accidentally left in old info or something, because if we’re only doing two out of the three prompts, and the most films you can discuss is two per prompt, then the MOST films you can discuss total is 4, and the least is 2. I’m not a math major or anything but am I wrong here? It seems like in the second paragraph he’s talking like we’re doing all three but the first paragraph explicitly states that we’re doing two, and that’s what he said in class as well. Gahhh! Last week, I went to the bassnectar concert in Charlotte, NC. For those who don’t know what bassnectar is, it’s commonly referred to as dub step. It’s one guy behind a booth remixing tracks and making music. I’ve been listening to bassnectar all through high school, but until last week I’d never been to a show before. It was INSANE!

When we walked in there were lights everywhere, people getting body paint, and people handing out glow sticks left and right. The opening act was good, but as soon as bassnectar came on, everyone in the venue just went crazy dancing! It was the most fun I’ve ever had at a concert and I definitely recommend going to anyone who likes that kind of music. I can’t wait to go again, he’s playing in Atlanta, GA on New Years!

“[Jerry Seinfeld] said the way to be a better comic was to create better jokes and the way to create better jokes was to write every day. But his advice was better than that. He had a gem of a leverage technique he used on himself and you can use it to motivate yourself—even when you don’t feel…
